King Erik, the Viking also known as "brother-slayer" of Jorvik, fearsome warrior and ruthless ruler. Born in AD 900, he killed his brothers to secure power and became the last independent Viking king. His reign in York ended tragically when he was slain while trying to escape to Dublin.
